Looking for a fun and memorable evening activity for your Canberra excursion? Treat students to a special screening of an Australian film at the National Film and Sound Archive.
More than just a movie night, the experience combines the excitement of the big screen with an introduction to Australia's rich audiovisual heritage.
Students enjoy a specially curated preshow introduction to the national audiovisual collection, including vintage advertisements and insights into the history of cinema. Each student also receives a sweet treat to enjoy during the movie.

Media Matters
Media Matters is an interactive media literacy program at the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia (NFSA).
Using content from Australia’s national audiovisual collection, students explore how film, television, radio, music, video games, advertising and social media help shape the way we understand the world. They investigate how images, sound and text communicate ideas, engage audiences and tell Australian stories.
Encouraging students to think like both consumers and creators, the program builds confidence in critical thinking and storytelling while introducing them to the many voices that make up Australia's audiovisual history.
This is a PACER Alternate approved program.
