This program examines primary sources related to the effects of the Second World War on the home front. Students explore the continuities and changes during this period, such as the changing role of women, the national positioning of migrants and First Nations Australians, and the use of wartime government controls and their effects on Australian society.  This inquiry driven program invites students to reflect on the inherent nature – and limits – of citizen rights and freedoms during wartime.
